Deciding Skies (Fate's Intent Book 2) Page 8

“It’s no problem at all, your majesty. Another time, perhaps?”

“Perhaps and I’ll be sure to be the one to contact you when that is.”

“All right, I guess I’ll just—”

“I feel so bad for this.” I truly felt like I had to do something. “Let me make it up to you. You can pick up your payment on your way out.”

  “Your majesty—”

“It’s the least I can do. You came all this way.”

  “Okay. Thank you.”

“Of course. Have a nice evening.”

“Ah, I will.” She started to turn slowly and I just waved and went back inside the room, taking a deep breath.

  “What was it?”

Adele popped herself up on the bed and I jumped my words. “It was nothing.”

She laughed like she didn’t believe me. “Nothing? You had to leave the room.”

I got back in bed next to her and was still being very vague about who it was. I knew she didn’t want to hear about it even if she thought she did. “Everything’s fine. Nothing like I said.”

She watched me avoiding her eyes and laughed. “Oh, I see. You forgot to tell your favorite whore not to come.”

I looked to her and tried fighting a smile just to make things happy. I didn’t want her getting mad over it. “Yeah, I kind of did forget a little but she’s not my favorite. You are.”

Adele huffed through a fake laugh and laid down, facing away from me. I guess trying not to make her mad didn’t work. “Thanks for comparing me to a whore, Zayden.”

“That’s not what I meant.” I came up behind her and tried looking over her so I could see her face. “You’re much more important to me than she’ll ever be. It was never anything more than a simple sex for money trade.”

“You mean she’s never just done it out of loyalty to her Prince?”

“Of course not! Those in the business really only have one goal and it’s okay. I paid her anyway.”

  “That’s smart.”

“Well, it was my fault. I didn’t tell her otherwise like I was going to. Sorry if being with you made me forget all about her.”

“I wasn’t saying that but I’m glad it did.”

“Well, good. Can we finally forget about this and get some sleep? It’s not going to happen again.”

  “Am I still staying?”

“How is that even a question?” I wrapped my arms around her tightly so she couldn’t get away. “You know you wouldn’t be able to sleep without me.”

Her body relaxed in my arms. “Something like that.”

“Well, we’re going to need sleep. I have no idea what’s going to happen tomorrow.”

  “Great.”

“Goodnight, Love. You won’t have to worry about a thing.”

  “Okay. Goodnight.”

I didn’t want her to be worried though I wasn’t even sure what our first day would look like but I hoped it would turn out well—for her sake mostly. She didn’t need to be thinking about anything else negatively. She has already done enough of that but she at least felt peaceful while she laid in my arms. It’s been a long day but I already miss holding her like this. She wasn’t the only one that found peace in it and sleep found me quickly.

  Chapter 14

  Jaylyn

  “No excuses?”

I could see the worry on his face while Troy was looking in my eyes but he touched my cheek and kept his stance close in front of me. “Promise.”

I smiled, knowing he was all about keeping his promises and slowly leaned towards his lips. They met and I took a step into him, holding the back of his head with both hands so he wouldn’t decide to back away. Troy’s grip around me was making his muscles tense but he was barely touching me as he grazed his fingertips down my exposed back.

When I knew for sure that he wasn’t going to try and back away, I brought my hands down and slipped my arms out of the straps of my dress. Troy immediately backed away to see what I was doing, only making him more nervous.

  “It’s okay.”

The top of my dress fell to my waist. I watched Troy take a gulp as he was looking down at my breasts only inches away from being up against his body. I smiled and stepped up on my tiptoes, wrapping my arms around his neck. Troy still had his hands on my back and slowly started to push down the rest of my dress with just the simplest touch.

It fell to the floor while we started to kiss again and Troy ran both his hands down the sides of my body. His breaths were impelled and he lifted me up in his arms while he turned towards the bed. He seemed anxious now that I was thankful for and he immediately laid me back on it, staying over me.

I smiled as I took a hold of Troy’s shirt and started pulling it off over his head. He helped and it was tossed off onto the floor while he had his eyes still focused on me naked in front of him. I could only smile again from his expression as I rubbed my hand down his bare chest and tucked my pointer finger into the waist of his pants with my smile growing.

He returned it while removing my finger and started taking them off himself. When I knew that it was actually going to happen, I moved back, settling under the blankets of his large bed.

He got in with me and I pulled him right on top of me, still feeling his nervousness. “I’ll be fine. I want this.”

Troy leaned down and kissed me, making it linger for just a moment. “And I never go back on a promise.”

There was that sweetness in him that I loved so much. It made for the perfect night and he was every bit as amazing as I dreamt he would be. He was so gentle, probably with lingering worry about hurting me but he was still sure to make it memorable for both of us. I could never forget about something like this.

In the end, his breaths were just a little more intense than mine and I smiled as I lifted my head and kissed his chest lightly with soft licks of my tongue. “Mmm. That would have been worth dying for.”

Troy laughed as he leaned down and kissed me. “Not for me. I’d never have it that great again if you were dead.”

I pulled his head down by his neck, kissing him again. “Then be lucky that didn’t happen. I knew it wouldn’t. See? You never had to be so nervous about it.”

“Hurting you even a little would have affected me the rest of my life.”

I smiled to his sweet affection towards me, something I’ve never really had until him. “Why did it take me so long to find you?”

Troy didn’t smile back. He took a slow breath through his nose and left my body, moving to my right. “You know why.”

What just happened? It was like he just turned against me or thought for some reason that he had to remind me how different we are. Whatever it was I didn’t like it but tried not to show it. “Yeah. You’re right. I guess I do.”

“Hey, I’m sorry, Jaylyn. I didn’t mean it to sound like that.”

“Whether you meant it or not, you’re right either way. This is still wrong.”

Troy sat up with me and kissed my shoulder while stroking his finger down my arm. “Do you really think that’s true?”

“I don’t want it to be but even if you still choose to give it all up and leave with us, it still would be.”

“Then just say so and I’ll stay.”

I leaned forward and put my head in my hands while I tried to keep from crying but my voice came out frustrated and loud. “No! That’s not what I want! I just want things to be less complicated!”

Troy got closer and put his arms around me, pulling me in. “I don’t know if it will ever be but what I do know is that this is worth fighting for. I don’t care where you’re from. I just care about you. That’s all that matters.”

“How can you be this perfect?”

“I guess it’s because of you.”

“Then promise it’ll always stay that way? Don’t take any of it back.”

Troy smiled and touched my chin lightly. “I promise. This is something that I would never regret and I’ll do anything to keep it that way.”

/>   I leaned towards him, longing for another kiss. I wanted him to be right. I wanted what I was feeling to be real and last forever. He was everything to me and I found myself agreeing that I would do anything to keep it this way too. Anything.

  Chapter 15

  Darius

I was eager and nervous to get her to my room all at the same time. It was weird but I kept reminding myself that Ruby was different. Even Izin noticed. It had to be true.

Her hold on me remained the same and I opened the door for her, letting her in first to look around.

“Wow. Nice.” She didn’t do much looking, mostly at my bed that sat up on a platform in the middle of the room with several steps to get to it. It said royalty all over it and I think she was giving herself time to take it in.

I just laughed, trying to be modest about it. I didn’t want to make her any more nervous than she already seemed to be. “I guess.”

“You guess? It looks like a King should be sleeping there.”

“His room is equally nice. We have expensive tastes here.”

She laughed and came to me which I guess was better than going on about it. “Do you? Well, since you planned on coming, you’ll get to see my room. You might say expensive. I have a nice little collection of rubies I know you’ll just love.”

  “Do you?”

  “Yeah.”

“Then I’d definitely like to see that.”

  “Then you definitely will.”

“Now, how about something you’ll like?”

I kissed her but it somehow changed her mood and she backed away. That’s not what I wanted to do.

  “Ruby?”

“You’re going to make this hard on me, aren’t you?”

  “I’m not trying to.”

“I know you’re not but there are still things I want, things I know you can’t give me or shouldn’t risk giving me.”

“Yet. I know we both have reasons to wait but that’s not going to stop me from being with you.”

“You say yet but I don’t know how long that will really be.”

She was being negative about it and I had to give her some kind of hope. “As long as we’re together, the time will go by fast. They’ll be plenty of it when I leave with you.”

She started to smile again and brought her hand up, touching my chest. “Okay. Then you better get started. You said it’d be a long night.”

I was waiting for her to say that. I leaned down to kiss her and began taking her dress off at the same time. She helped with the process as best as she could while trying to keep our lips from parting until her dress finally found its way to the floor where it belonged. She stepped out of it at the same time that I effortlessly picked her up, wrapping her legs around me.

Our lips were still locked and I stepped up a few steps to the platform of my bed and tossed her back on it. She was so light that it seemed easy.

Ruby laughed as she bounced up in the air and landed perfectly in the center of my bed. She was the first girl ever to be in it but shit, she belonged there. “Be careful! You’ll break the bed!”

I returned the laugh and started taking my boots off while getting out of most of my clothes. “It won’t break. It’s pretty solid and who cares if it does? I just say the word and I’d have a new one.”

“Must be nice to get everything you want.”

I still had a smile on my face from laughing and I approached the bed, getting in next to her. “I’m looking forward to finding out.”

  “Mmm. As am I.”

We kissed and I repositioned myself over her. I thought about what it would have been like to stay here and finally have her the way I really wanted but those thoughts always turned negative. I knew I wasn’t ready but I was ready to treat her to the night she deserved. Ruby was a remarkable woman that I was glad I got the chance to meet and now, I was getting the chance to taste.

I started to move my kisses down her body without delay. I couldn’t get enough of the fit appearance of her and had to have my hands following every inch of the way until I finally settled around her hips.

I kissed her while extending my tongue first and her back arched, her hands vaulting to my head and her fingers curling in my hair. That was a quick sign to know she liked it and I kept it up.

She started moaning like I haven’t heard before and it kept me going. I soon learned that her moans and simple tugs of my hair was her way of telling me what she wanted and I let her direct me. I was rewarded by getting to listen to her loud vocals for my performance and her first outburst of pleasure came quickly. I felt her muscles contract when it happened but I didn’t stop there. I only slowed it down and continued our night exactly the way I intended.

I wouldn’t stop until she begged.

  Chapter 16

  Ruby

I never would have thought that I’d find my greatest weakness when we set out on this mission but I sure as Fate knew it now. Muscles was a sight to look at for sure but the way he could pleasure me, I could never be apart from him now.

He was just so intense and into it though he wasn’t getting anything in return. I wish he could but there was still that thought that always lingered in the back of my mind about what would happen if I killed him. I would be without him and I just couldn’t live with that. Not after this. He just wouldn’t stop like there was never any need for a break.

I lost count about how many times he could get me there. I was just getting more sensitive each time but I couldn’t even come to use my own words anymore. Only a sea of moans spewed from my mouth. He didn’t seem bothered by it. In fact, I think he may even have enjoyed it more because I was constantly expressing what I felt.

It was impossible to hold back. There was a mere break where my breathing didn’t let out a moan and I looked at Muscles getting up to do something but I wasn’t ready for it to be over yet.

  “Need a break?” I asked.

He looked at me with the most charming smile. “No. Just my hair follicles.”

I tried laughing but I will still pretty much panting so it didn’t really sound like a laugh. “Sorry.”

“No. It’s all right. We can do something else with those hands.”

I felt my eyes close and just let him do whatever he was going to do until I felt him start to wrap something around my right wrist. I looked when my arm was pulled up and he was tying it to the bedpost so I wouldn’t be able to reach his head anymore.

  “Muscles?”

“Relax. It’s for your own good and I guess mine.”

He tied up my other hand and climbed over me, purposely staying out of reach from my lips. I badly wanted him to kiss me and he knew it.

“I can get out of this you know.” I said.

  “Yeah but you won’t.”

He kissed me heavily and started to move them back down my body. I had to turn my hands so I could at least grab my restraints and practically lifted myself up when he started again.

I don’t know how but it was like a whole new experience. Not being able to use my hands changed things but he just kept going with no sign in sight about being tired. I didn’t know how much I could really take.

By the end, I could barely use my voice. Muscles crawled back up to me, kissing along the way until he reached my face.

“Think you’re ready to sleep now?”

I still couldn’t talk and tried getting out some kind of response while mumbling. “Mmm hmm.”

He kissed me again while untying me and my arms just dropped. I was tensing them so much to keep my grip that now I couldn’t even move them.

“Then go ahead. My bed is your bed.”

I felt him tuck me in though my eyes were so heavy I couldn’t see him but he didn’t get in right away with me. I tried looking but I couldn’t do that for very long. He was still in the room but he seemed wide awake while lighting a cigar. He just stood there at the end of the bed to watch me with a growing smile.

  “Sleep. You need it.”

  I c
ouldn’t help but take his advice because he was right. I did need it. That was the last thing I remembered of him; his beautiful smile lighting the air through the smoke dancing around him. I’ve never felt so satisfied.

  Chapter 17

  Adele

I woke up from the light that shone through the window and slowly started to open my eyes after rubbing them. Zayden was gone. I sat up in a hurry and looked around. It wasn’t a dream. I was still in his room but there was no one with me. “Zayden?”

I didn’t see him anywhere and wrapped the white sheet around me tightly and just sat there, looking towards the balcony to wait for him to come to me. I knew I couldn’t leave without someone seeing me and he would have to come back at some point even if I had to wait here all day.

I lost myself in my mind while I waited. Still, it’s felt like a dream, everything that’s happened. Part of me didn’t want it to end, I didn’t want to wake up but another part of me knew that I had to.

I was staring off towards the balcony with all of these thoughts swirling around me and was completely surprised when the door finally opened. My head whipped right around and I saw Zayden walk in, fully dressed, crown and all, holding a tray of food.

He closed the door behind him with his foot and looked up at me. “You’re up. I was hoping you’d be. Are you all right?”

“Yeah. I’m fine. I just don’t like to wake up alone as much as I don’t like going to sleep alone.”

“Oh, sorry. You looked so peaceful. I couldn’t wake you but here, I brought you breakfast.” He set the tray down on the bed in front of me and sat on the other side of it.

“You shouldn’t be the one serving me.”

  “I wanted to.”

“Well, you must have gotten up early.”

“Not that early. Troy and Jaylyn were up way before me and woke the kitchen up then so I thought I’d bring you something.”
